RODNEY P PRESENTS 'THE FUTURE'
TOURING WITH A LIVE BAND FROM LATE SEPTEMBER THROUGH TO END
OF DECEMBER
Rodney P's long awaited new LP 'The Future' is scheduled for
Oct 18th, preceded by a single 'Trouble' on Oct 4th. The band
will feature drums (Jungle Drummer), keys, bass (from London
Elektricity), backing vocals and dj (often Skitz). Rodney can
host the night prior to the live set with local battles and
local acts involved. Shows will be mentioned on his Radio 1Xtra
show ( weekly Fridays 7-10pm). The LP will be on Riddim Killa/Lowlife
- who also released Skinnymans recent LP which sold 12,000 copies
in the first 3 weeks; they are expecting Rodneys LP to do better.
There will be specialist press ads in September and October,
HMV and Virgin are playlisting and racking the album throughout
October as well as including the album in their own press
ads. There will be a Radio 1Xtra tour featuring Rodney in
October. Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Giles Peterson, Mr Scruff will
be supporting and playing the album. MTV Base, MTV 2 and Channel
U will be playing the video. Flyering/street teams working
the campaign in all major cities. Puma will be supporting
the street poster campaign in November hopefully. Artwork
will be provided for all bookings.
UGLY DUCKLING - available dates: Mon 25 Oct. 'Meatshake'
LP finally gets a UK/European release (Rykodisc).
BLADE - Live show featuring Blade, guest dj Tigerstyle and
hypeman Respect BA. Late Sept to Dec
HORACE ANDY - Throughout November and into December touring
in Europe with a full live band to promote his forthcoming
new LP on Sanctuary "From the roots: Horace Andy meets
Mad Professor". Available dates: Nov 1-10, 16,21,24,29,30
Dec 1, 5th onwards.
PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS - Touring to promote the forthcoming
LP entitled 'Stepfather' which will be released in September.
New singles due out in July and October. Available dates:
Oct 5,11.
KILLA KELA's SPITKINGDOM SOUNDSYSTEM: hailed by Pharrell
(Neptunes/NERD)as the 'worlds best beatboxer,' Kela will be
touring with his own live show featuring MC TRIP + DJ SKELETRIK
+ SPIDER (guest vocalist on single) + sound engineer (and
The Mixologists on request). Having signed a major deal, Kela
will be touring student orientated venues from late SEPTEMBER
throughout OCTOBER/early NOVEMBER to promote the new single
'Jawbreaker' due out in August and his forthcoming LP. Available
dates: Sept 26-29, Oct 3-5, 10-12, Thurs 14, 17-20, 24-27,
29,31, Nov 1,2,7-16.
VADIM - new LP out Feb 2005 on Ninja Tune and touring worldwide
throughout the year! Line-up features artists on the LP -
Yarah Bravo (poet/mc), dj Woody, Blu Rum, keyboard player.
The set will consist of a 60minute live show with an additional
60minutes dj'g. Artwork will be provided. UK leg of the tour
will be March. Available for European summer festivals.
SLICK RICK - appx a week of gigs in December.
KLASHNEKOFF - the long awaited debut LP is just out and so
far looks to be one of the fastest selling UK hip hop albums
yet! Touring in October + November.
TOMMY EVANS dates available Oct-Dec
YUNGUN with dj MR THING - acclaimed rapper will be touring
to promote his debut LP 'The Essance' (Janomi Records) with
the legendary dj Mr Thing. Available as either full live show
with rapper, dj + hypeman, or dj + hypeman set.
MARK B - After selling 50,000 albums & 2 top 40 singles
September 13th sees the long awaited return of the 'Unknowns'
Mark B (Mark B & Blade). The new single 'Move…Now'
is released (Sept 13) on Mark's own independent 'K Boro' record
label in conjunction with Genuine and Pias & features
YNR's Tommy Evans on vocals. It is currently picking up extensive
Radio 1 play and championed by Jo Wiley. Mark plays a dj set
with his hypeman HoneyBrown. (note:Tommy wont be guesting
on Marks' show)
KOOL DJ HERC - the Godfather of Hip Hop in Europe for dj
shows appx Nov 24-December 5th.
FLAVOR FLAV touring in December with Public Enemy dj Lord
and rapper Timbo King.
RAEKWON + MASTA KILLA in Europe 1st-15th October
JOHNNY CLARKE - reggae legend over from Jamaica late November/early
December. With live band.
